April 20th, 2011 – Oil on the Waves
Symposium on the impacts, preparedness, response, and responsibilities in case of an oil platform disaster in the Dutch North Sea.

On april 20th 2011 the international symposium 'Oil on the Waves' was held in the beautiful location of the old ship yard 'Willemsoord' in Den Helder, close to the navy harbor.
Topic of the symposium were the lessons, learned of the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster a year ago, on april 20th 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico. Prominent national and international speakers discussed the lessons we have learned and our preparedness for another disaster, but this time in the North Sea area.
